British band A.N.D were formed in 1989 out of the remnants of Arcana. Their first two albums, ‘100 Hours’ (1990, World Wide Records) and ‘Madman’s Overture’ (1992, Green Tree Records) did well in Europe. The following year, founder Paul May became a Christian. With this new perspective and a new line-up, the 3rd A.N.D album ‘Get Real’ was recorded with producer Paul Hodson (Seventh Angel, Detritus) and released in 1994 on his label Nu Life Records.

Soundmass are honoured to be given the opportunity to re-issue ‘Get Real’ 31 years after its initial release. The creative talents of Paul, a true music veteran, shine through on this album. His well-crafted and performed compositions rely more on form than intensity for their impact. Musically, A.N.D straddle hard rock and traditional heavy metal in creating highly melodic and catchy songs infused with searing guitar solos. Add to these metal anthems some blues overtones and the occasional progressive meander to give you the diversity that will hook you in. Overlaying all this is Paul’s raw, gritty, raspy vocals that match the meaty riffs perfectly.

Angelic Warlord were suitably impressed, giving the original release a 90% rating. So we think you will be just as delighted in this album, especially as the re-issue has been given a 2025 remaster by Paul. To top off this Collector’s Edition, we have added the bonus tracks “Someday” and “I Wanna Rock” (from ‘Madman’s Overture’), “Destiny” (from ‘100 Hours’) and “Judge”, a previously unreleased song from the ‘Get Real’ sessions.
